On Saturday, December 13, 2014, many couples will make history. How? They are choosing that day to get married so their wedding date will be 12-13-14, a numerical sequence that will not come around again until January 2, 2103… 89 years from now. Two historic hotels in Eureka Springs are adding to the fun of that day by adding one more number to the sequence.
“It is a great stroke of luck that 12/13/14 happens to land on a Saturday, the best day -historically- for most couples to get married,” said Jodie English, director of sales for Eureka Springs’ 1886 Crescent Hotel and 1905 Basin Park Hotel. “That’s why we’ve decided to add to the fun by adding the number 15.”
English explained that if a combined total of 15 or more couples get married on 12/13/14 at the Crescent and Basin Park Hotels, the hotels will give away to one of those couples a “Historical 12/13/14/15 Wedding Anniversary Package”. The package will be given away by means of a random drawing and is intended to be used by the winning couple for their one-year anniversary. This special package includes a two-night stay in a Honeymoon Suite, a duet massage, meal vouchers and in-room complimentary champagne with keepsake glasses.
The Crescent and Basin Park hotels, long-time favorites of brides getting married in “The Wedding Capital of The South”, will annually host more 400 wedding events. This includes those brides who might get married at the internationally famous Thorncrown Chapel but then need a place for their rehearsal dinner, wedding reception, etc.
“One ‘historical date’ caveat, brides who are thinking about selecting 12/13/14 for their wedding day should start planning soon since unique numerical dates are so rare and our hotel bookings are already edging close to the magical number of 15,” English concluded.
